Women’s Prison Ministry

“I was in prison and you came to me.” Matthew 25:36b (NKJV)

Outside Women’s Kairos Ministry is an international program that ministers to women who have been incarcerated or have family or loved ones in prison. A weekend event takes place twice a year (March & October) at Marywood Retreat Center Camp located at 1714 State Road 13 in Switzerland, FL. The entire weekend is for ministering to precious women through programs, group sharing, chapel, meals and devotions. It is a time of building relationships of love, a time of encouragement and a time to share God’s love.

There are two types of Volunteers. The volunteer “Angels” complete an application but do not require training. They are asked to volunteer their time and service (as few or as many hours) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They may be asked to set up, clean-up and provide transportation when required.

The volunteer team members will have to complete 36 hours of training and will stay at the Center for the entire weekend. These team members will work with the women and receive detailed information during training.

Lee Cummins is the Coordinator for Calvary Chapel Jacksonville Women’s Kairos Ministry, and she receives all the information on the Weekend Events and distributes to those who are interested.
